YEREVAN. – According to the 2020 UN E-Government Development Index, Armenia ranks 63rd on the list of 193 countries, improving its position by 19 points from the previous report. Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan stated this at Thursday's Cabinet meeting of the government.

"According to the E-Participation Index, Armenia is included in the list of countries with the highest rating. We want to further encourage the citizens’ involvement in the decision-making process through e-government tools, too.

Another important tool for e-democracy and participatory governance, the single electronic platform for petitions, has been launched [in Armenia] with the e-petition.am or the Armenian lettered հանրագիր.հայ domains; this is the Armenian version of change.org," Avinyan said.

He added that through these e-petitions, people can submit their proposals, or report on the correction of the shortcomings of Armenian state bodies and officials. "The government will follow with great attention and be attentive towards all this," Tigran Avinyan said.
